The switch of the calendar year itching closer, creating the opportunity for summing up and starting anew. But astrologically it’s actually the middle of a different kind of year – the year of the Jupiterian cycle. It takes for this planet about a year to transit one sign, but it obviously has its own points of transition, regardless of our made-up slices of time.
This Jupiterian year, that started last summer and ends in the next, brings the well known blessings (and excesses) of Jupiter to the realm of Cancer. As everybody who’s a little familiar with astrology and knows something about the typical traits of the signs, knows that one of the main concerns of Cancer is anything to do with home. And as Jupiter opens up and brings opportunities, any consulting astrologer would suggest to its clients this year that it’s a great time for a new home, for example.
Actually, it really is. And not only because of this Jupiterian year alone. It just happens to coincide with the massive shift in the outer planets, as was described here. If any transit of Jupiter through Cancer is a good time for some kind of home change and expansion, than this time it can be quite transformational, like a whole change in lifestyle and life direction, at least for some.
Whether that is what actually happens or not, and how exactly it comes about, is as always a matter of the personal birth chart and its actual interactions with those transits, among other things. Nothing is set in stone, and every chart is unique in its combinations, so one can go through this Jupiter in Cancer year without any significant effect in this life area, at least not in an obvious way. But the opportunity is there, though it’s not like everyone is moving house, suddenly.
It helps that Jupiter as actually axhalted in Cancer, and regardless of anyone’s home and lifestyle constellation, it’s just a very good Jupiterian year as a whole, besides maybe when it’s in Sagittarius and Pisces, where it rules. This year, the whole Cancerian inner world of subjectivity and personal feelings gets elevated and expanded, given a sort of seal of approval and confirmation, the way Jupiter can manifest, when not afflicted by difficult aspects, that is.
So happy new year for everyone, and especially for those who are lucky to enjoy this especially positive Jupiterian cycle, like having Cancer and other cardinal signs prominent in their charts, or in some other way.
